GMR Buckingham Mary Echo — aka “Mary Echo”Mary Echo is the smallest of the mares, but can hold her own in the herd! She is the first to nicker when I open the barn door, is always in a good mood, and loves to eat.

Mary Echo’s lineage is a wonderful mixture of champion bloodlines with a wide variety of coat colors and pat-terns. Her DNA results will be exciting to see. I think we’re in store for some beautiful genetic surprises, and I’m expecting big things out of her.

I’ve often thought about taking Mary Echo to assisted living, nursing homes, etc., due to her calm, unflappable demeanor. She adores attention and will stand quietly for hours if she can be scratched or brushed. In fact, Mary will stand untied for as long as someone is willing to give her attention. I absolutely trust her with all my ranch visitors. Small children can get in the stall with her and I never worry about any incidents; she just knows how to be gentle. Mary Echo still has part of her“winter coat” in the photos.

Mary Echo’s mane and tail!

You can tell that nothing “rattles” her… she just goes with the flow!

Mary Echo at age two. She’s a little clown and will do anything to get attention — even smile for the camera!
