Rodent control and alert systems are an important part in keeping Rockin’ Clip Clop operating at top capacity. All of the cats are strays that came to the ranch out of desperation… injured, starving, or cold. All have been adopted and put to work with room, board, and food as their pay!

Radar was named for his ability to keep track of everyone’s and everything’s whereabouts. He has been with us for over 13 years and has been a fearless warrior in defending his property.

Pumba was a feral cat that I was able to catch and have neutered. After three years, he finally allowed us to touch him, and once he discovered human companionship, he became an extremely dedicated and loving cat. During his feral era, he contracted feline leukemia and died only nine months after he became my buddy.

Snickers likes to play hide and seek with me when it’s time go come indoors, and I’ve spent many hours chasing her down or coaxing her to me. Both Telly and Snickers have lived with us since 2001, making them very long-lived kitties.

Telly and Snickers are half-sisters. Telly wandered across our creek when she was a tiny kitten and couldn’t find her way back home. She stayed alive at the next door golf course by eating scraps that were left to her, but wouldn’t come near anyone. We were told about a small kitten and immediately went to see if it was her. She came running to my husband, who scooped her up and brought her home. She has never wandered again.

Monte was rescued on a return road trip from the company that prints a magazine we produce. He was severely starved, so much that when you put your thumb and first finger together to make a circle, you could put the circle around his neck. He was rushed to one of the best veterinary hospitals in the area and somehow survived. He is a beautiful cat… very loving and even though he is an avid hunter, never strays from home. His name is derived from the place where he was found… Montezuma, Iowa.

I found Olivia on an early November morning. She was staggering and then fell into the grass, unable to get up. You can see from the top photograph that someone had either tried to shoot her, or had hit her severely in the head. She was on the verge of death when we rushed her to the same veterinary hospital that saved Monte; she was not expected to make it through the night. Olivia is the most beautiful and sweetest cat I have ever had the pleasure to be around. She is actually a Flame (Red) Point Siamese Cat who now lives very pampered life with a close friend, Lonnie, to whom I will ever be grateful for giving this cat a well-deserved and loving home.

Pawli is the most petite full-grown cat of all our felines. I found her on a raw December evening, unable to move in the cold and ears bleeding from frostbite. Once again, an emergency trip our veterinary hospital where she was treated and released to us several days later. You can see she damaged the tip of one ear. She now has a permanent residence in our publishing facility, keeping us company as we work throughout the day. She, too, has gone from a life of hardship to one where she is loved and pampered.
